13th Street Saloon & Steakpit - Boulder, CO

Name: 13th Street Saloon & Steakpit
Location: 1801 13th St
Boulder, CO
Operating Hours: 5pm-2am Daily
Website: http://www.boulderdowntown.com/guide/go/1008
Rating: 4/5 pints

Location:
Right in downtown Boulder, around a ton of other adorable shops and fun college-town bars. It's location was ideal because it was just across the street from the Brewpub where we had just eaten dinner.

Set Up:
There are definitely separate sections. But all of them center on the center – which is the mechanical bull ring, which has a semi-circle rail and seats around it. There is a bar area, a pool area, and 2 or so tables and chairs areas.

Fumar o No Fumar?:
Clean air in the Rockies!

Food:
Apparently there is typical bar fare, plus steaks here. But not once we arrived. Kids are even served here, but only until 9:30pm.

Staff:
Unforgettable. Rustic 5-o-clock-shadow dudes. They're over it!

Clientele:
Well, not my favorite. Which was the only downside to this bar. Scantily-clad college girls, who all looked the same to me. This made for some interesting bull rides, and reactions to said rides. As for the men-folk, there was a 50/50 mix of young "typical college guys" and "typical 40-something creepy guys." One we befriended said, in his own words, that "he was sorry for bothering us, but he was desperate," just minute before he went flying off the mechanical bull nose-first into the wooden rail.

Cash Damage:
Decent if you get the right thing. Pretty standard prices for most drinks. BUT – the best deal in the house are the PBR $5 pitchers.

Special Features:
There is a MECHANICAL BULL you guys!!!! And it's only $1 to ride!!!

Overall grade:
4 out of 5 pints. Fun, unpretentious bar. I could do without the regulars though.
